FAI Competition

Circol ELT has teamed up with the FAI, to launch a nationwide competition for FAI-affiliated clubs to win a sustainable walking track made from recycled tyres, worth up to €50,000.

How to enter

Submit your entry in written, spoken or video format, whichever way suits you best; however, you must follow the following guidelines. Written entries must be no longer than 2,000 words. Spoken or video entries must be no longer than 4 minutes. You can also separately submit a short video (Please use a YouTube link) or some photos (max size 10MB) showing your facilities, community, or the space where the track would be installed, or anything that you believe may assist your entry.

The prize value of up to €50,000 must cover all costs in relation to the installation of the walking track, including site survey, groundwork and levelling. The size of the walking track to be installed will depend on the condition of the current ground and the preparatory work that needs to be undertaken, as determined by our contractor.

In your entry, please cover the following areas,

  1. Provide a brief history of your Club, when it started, how many members, your ambition, and where it fits in the local community.
  2. Tell us about any local community initiatives that you run.
  3. Tell us about how your Club promotes sustainability, or about any sustainability initiatives that your club has run or been involved in (e.g. recycling, energy efficiency, eco-friendly events).
  4. Tell us how a walking track made from recycled tyres would make a difference and benefit your club and the wider local community, schools, community groups, etc.

How will this walking track benefit your wider community? (Include who will use it, any existing outreach programmes, or new plans to involve schools, older people, walking groups, etc.)
What steps has your club taken to promote sustainability? (Examples: recycling, energy efficiency, eco-friendly events, reusable gear, bike parking, water-saving measures, etc.). (Max 250 words)
How will the track be used? Why would this walking track make a difference for your members and community? (Include planned weekly activities, matches, club events, walking groups, fitness use, integration with other programmes.) (Max 200 words)
